- The Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, the Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce, the Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection, the Regulation on Service Providers and Intermediary Service Providers in Electronic Commerce and the Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages contain provisions on the processing or protection of personal data. The Turkish Penal Code No. 5237, on the other hand, stipulates a number of sanctions regarding the processing and confidentiality of personal data.
